The North Carolina Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC NC) has named Alma Beciragic as its 2015 People’s Choice winner. After viewing a video about her focus on water science research at the Sept. 18 annual USGBC NC Green Gala, attendees voted to award Beciragic $1,000 for her studies at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. Beciragic is also one of three winners of the $2,000 USGBC NC 2015 Rob Eggers Memorial Scholarship.
The USGBC NC also announced the winners of its 2015 Sustainable Business Awards. The organization says: “These companies, individuals and non-profits best demonstrate exemplary commitment and success in creating a more sustainable future for North Carolina.:
