Raleigh Parks will hold an Open House on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Pioneers Building in Method Community Park.
The event will feature a proposed new site plan that includes additional amenities such as a splash pad and a community plaza.
City staff and the design team will be available to answer questions and gather community feedback on the proposed changes.
The Method Community Park will have improvements funded by the 2022 Parks Bond. The work will center on extensive renovations of the existing Community Center and Pioneer Building. There will be plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems upgrades along with repairs and improvements to the exterior of the buildings. Interior renovations will work to meet the current programming priorities of the community.
Construction is expected to be completed in 2027.
This initiative follows a request from the City of Raleigh Council to add a water feature at the park. The design plans are based on input collected from previous open houses, surveys, focus groups, and workshops, and aim to address necessary improvements to the O’Kelly/White Community Center, the Pioneers Building, and the surrounding area.
