The North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC) says it has appointed Robin Bridges as a business development specialist. Serving businesses statewide, Bridges will identify contract opportunities, source them to businesses across the state and provide one-on-one assistance to help businesses compete for, win and grow jobs through federal contracts.

“The business development teams are the heart of the NCMBC,” said executive director Scott Dorney “Robin’s contracting experience with RTI International and other defense contractors will equip her to provide invaluable assistance to North Carolina businesses in winning and successfully executing federal contracts.”

As a member of the NCMBC’s business development team, Bridges will identify future and current federal prime and subcontracting opportunities, identify and notify companies of these opportunities and provide one-on-one assistance to help companies bid on and win contracts. Specifically, she will monitor all contract opportunities from Womack Army Medical Center – Fort Bragg; US Army Special Operations Command (USASOC); US Army Medical Command; Defense Logistics Agency – Medical Supply Chain; Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), and other defense agencies.

Additionally, she will provide assistance to businesses in Cumberland, Harnett, Hoke, Montgomery, Moore, Richmond, Robeson and Scotland counties desiring to do business with the federal government. In this capacity, Bridges will help existing businesses to understand contracting processes and to identify, bid on and compete for federal contracts.

Before joining NCMBC, Ms. Bridges was a senior contracting officer, primarily working in the international development business area, with RTI International (Durham). In this capacity, Robin worked with both contracts and cooperative agreements/grants in all phases of acquisition/assistance. Robin has also worked for such prime contractors as Harris Corporation (Rochester, NY) and ITT Electro-Optical Products Division (Roanoke, VA). She has also worked for BAI Aerosystems, Inc., a small Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) manufacturer and in her own small business.
