The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints plans to build a welfare distribution facility in University City, an edge city mostly within the city limits of Charlotte.
The Church purchased 2.49 acres at Mallard Oaks in University City to build Bishops’ Storehouse, according to MPV Properties. The parcel is located along Interstate 85 at Mallard Creek Church Rd./Hwy, 29 and John Adams Rd.
Bishops’ Storehouses provide food and household commodities to needy people.
Construction is expected to begin this year.
