Raleigh Parks is hosting an open house to share details of the upcoming Tarboro Road Park project on Jan. 21 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Tarboro Road Community Center.
The design team and city staff will be available at the drop-in event to discuss current design plans and collect feedback.
The redevelopment of Tarboro Road Park will be funded with $29.3 million from the 2022 Raleigh Parks Bond.
The plan includes:
- A new, larger community center
- Site improvements such as a multi-purpose sports court, playground, plaza, and pedestrian connections to the future BRT station on East Edenton Street
- Interior upgrades to the St. Monica Teen Center
- Public art celebrating the culture and history of the surrounding neighborhood
