KBR Building Group, a subsidiary of KBR, Inc. for the past seven years, has been acquired by global construction firm Pernix Group, Inc., of Lombard, Illinois. The acquisition completed financial close on June 30, 2015. Moving forward, the company will once again operate under its original name, BE&K Building Group, the company announced in a news release.
“Known for its outstanding safety record, BE&K Building Group offers a wide variety of construction management services and project delivery methods nationally to clients in the advanced manufacturing, commercial/mixed-use, healthcare and institutional sectors,” the news release said.
BE&K Building Group’s headquarters will remain in Greenville, South Carolina. In addition to Greenville, the company has full-service regional operations in Charleston, South Carolina; Research Triangle Park, North Carolina; Washington, D.C.; and Houston, Texas. “Consistently ranked as one of the Southeast’s leading contractors for the past four decades, BE&K Building Group has received dozens of national and regional awards for design and construction excellence,” the news release said.
“BE&K Building Group’s national leadership position in key market sectors, together with its outstanding safety record, technical innovation, preconstruction services and design-build delivery expertise, will expand Pernix Group’s commercial domestic operations and strengthen their portfolio for international business opportunities. Pernix Group is consistently listed as one of Engineering News-Record’s Top 50 American Contractors Working Abroad,” according to the announcement.
