The Structural Engineers Association of North Carolina (SEAofNC) will be holding its annual conference in Greensboro at the Greensboro Marriott Downtown on Oct. 17 and 18. This event draws structural engineers from across the state.
Each year, the conference location rotates between one of the association’s five regional chapter cities: Asheville, Charlotte, Greensboro, Raleigh and Wilmington.
Over two days, 13 speakers from around the country will present on a variety of topics in relation to the structural engineering field. Talks will be divided into dual break-out sessions: three on Thursday, one keynote speaker Thursday evening, and three on Friday. The presentations generally attract 90 to 110 attendees from all over North Carolina and provide Professional Development Hours for attendees, SEAofNC says in a statement.
The keynote address will be given by Ashraf Habibullah, president and CEO of Computers and Structures, Inc. Habibullah graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1970 with a master’s degree in structural engineering. He founded Computers & Structures, Inc. (CSI) in 1975.
