SteelDay, a national day of outreach and celebration hosted by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) and its members and partners, provides free opportunities to learn about the fascinating work and accomplishments of the U.S. structural steel industry. In addition to steel facility and job site tours where you can see various facets of the industry and its innovative projects first-hand, this year’s SteelDay features exciting online activities created specially for designers.

Buckner Companies will be hosting a Steel Day event at their main office in Graham, NC. Lunch will be provided. During the event attendees will learn about Buckner Companies role in the steel erection industry and have access to tour the Buckner facility.

Dillon Supply Company in Raleigh will be hosting a lunch and facility tour of their steel distribution warehouse. Steel related vendors will be on site to demonstrate power tools, abrasives, and proper rigging and lifting techniques.

SteelDay will also mark the premiere of AISC’s new video “Architecturally Exposed,” a documentary on the art and science of architecturally exposed structural steel. The documentary will be available for free online streaming and downloading beginning on SteelDay.
