The Offices of Senator Richard Burr and Thom Tillis and the North Carolina Military Business Center are pleased to host the in-person Southeast Region Federal Construction, Infrastructure and Environmental Summit on April 6-7, 2022 in Wilmington.

“The Summit” brings together over 600 representatives of the Corps of Engineers, Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, Fort Bragg, Marine Corps Installations East, Seymour Johnson AFB, other Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps installations, US Coast Guard, Department of Veterans Affairs, other federal agencies, general and specialty contractors, designers and construction suppliers from throughout the Southeast of the United States.  While the Summit sessions on April 7 will focus on these agencies’ FY22, FY23 and future programs of work, the pre-Summit sessions on April 6 will focus on installation energy and environmental challenges and cyber security for federal infrastructure contractors.

“With over $2.3 billion in new construction, renovation, energy and environmental projects at bases in five southeastern states in FY22 and FY23, this first in-person Summit since 2019 will benefit all North Carolina businesses currently or potentially performing as prime or subcontractors on federal infrastructure projects,” said Scott Dorney, NCMBC executive director. “Because senior leaders of the Army, Navy and other agencies will participate, the Summit will provide a unique, once-a-year opportunity for businesses to dialogue one-on-one with government officials and national prime contractors who will execute this work in support of America’s warfighters.”

The Summit is the premier, best-established and most-recognized federal construction event in the Southeast– businesses who are already engaged or want to perform in the federal market should attend. Attendance is encouraged for the following types of businesses of all sizes that work or can work in VA, NC, SC, GA and FL: general and specialty contractors; architecture and engineering firms; construction supply firms; companies that provide facility support and maintenance services; businesses that provide energy and environmental services; businesses that provide construction and design contractor support services (legal, accounting, bonding, lending, etc.); current federal contractors seeking teaming partners, subcontractors and suppliers.
