Following the addition of a state-of-the-art fitness center and pro-shop, Myers Park Country Club in Charlotte nears the completion of the second phase of its centennial plan.
The plan is a comprehensive blueprint for additions, renovations, and improvements that positions the Myers Park Country Club at the forefront of area private clubs.
Recently, general contractor EDIFICE Inc. completed constructing the 24,000 sq, ft, sports complex.
“The first floor offers a remarkable golf and pro shop, expanded ladies locker room, showers, steam room and lounge areas. High-end finishes abound making this area feel like a luxury spa with travertine marble and abundant casework throughout. There’s also a spacious locker room for guests of the club to enjoy on the main level,” according to a statement.
The second floor offers more than 5,600 square feet of space dedicated exclusively to fitness including cardio and strength training. A large exercise room and three separate workout areas allow the club to offer expertise from coaches, trainers and therapists through a menu of programs.
The lower level contains the golf training area and houses bag storage, cart parking, restrooms and a club fitting shop. The exterior of the fitness building is the same architectural style and masonry construction as the original clubhouse that is nearing its one-hundredth birthday.
“Our contractor and designer have done an incredible job of making our new sports complex fit in with our existing clubhouse and grounds. The facility appears as though it has been on campus since our early beginnings, and the views the facility provides of our practice range and the golf course are stunning,” club president Tim Garrison said in a statement.
The third phase construction is anticipated to begin in January 2015.
