The City of Raleigh is currently in the process of developing its Next Comprehensive Plan, a key initiative that will guide the city’s growth with a focus on sustainable and equitable development, policy refinement, and enhanced community engagement.
This update to the city’s long-term planning framework follows the original plan, adopted in 2009 and updated from 2014 to 2019, which laid the foundation for zoning and development regulations required by state law.
The Next Comprehensive Plan will include a series of Community Conversations to gather input from residents and stakeholders on six core themes: Affordable Housing, Stormwater, Mobility, Trees, Neighborhood Change, and Sustainable Infrastructure & Services.
These conversations will shape the vision and goals for Raleigh’s future growth and development.
We invite you to join us for the upcoming Stormwater Community Conversation in December, where Raleigh Planning and Development, in partnership with Raleigh Stormwater, will host two evenings of presentations and discussions.
Topics will include flood management, climate adaptation, and stormwater priorities, challenges, and opportunities. Your input will help shape the stormwater strategies within the Next Comprehensive Plan.
