The North Carolina Research Campus is investing $1.5 million to construct a third speculative laboratory suite and new, flexible office space on the third floor of the David H. Murdock Core Laboratory building, reports The Independent Tribune.
Construction is scheduled to start in the spring.
The first of the new spaces will be a combination of laboratory and administrative space totaling at least 3,000 square feet. The fourth space will be up to 1,800 square feet of office space. The two new spaces will be downstairs from the David H. Murdock Research Institute and near UNC Charlotte Bioinformatics Services Division.
The NCRC originally announced the construction of speculative or ready-to-go laboratory (RTG) space in 2012.
