Employer tracking firm Manpower suggests those looking for work in this economy are in for some good news. Manpower predicts the job market across America from July to September will be the best in four years. In North Carolina, they call it “robust,” ranking Charlotte in the top-five job growth areas in America, according to a WSOC-TV report. In the Tar Heel State, 25 percent of employers plan to hire, and only 5 percent say they will reduce payrolls.
Manpower expect the most hires in jobs like manufacturing, leisure and hospitality, financial and construction. Alan Banks with the home builders association says job seekers with basic construction skills will be most in demand, since much of that workforce left America in the recession. “Masonry, framing, concrete and roofing” says Banks.
But even though North Carolina created 90,000 jobs last year and construction is making a comeback, economist John Connaughton says the recession isn’t over for everyone – many other jobs that drive America are still struggling. “It’s not everywhere yet and certainly if you are in blue-collar jobs, it still hasn’t come around ” says Connaughton.
