The groundbreaking ceremony for the Union Square Campus in downtown Greensboro was held April 7.
The nursing collaboration will be housed in an 85,000-sq. ft. facility to be built at Arlington and East Lee streets. It is the $40 million first phase of a larger project and is expected to be completed next summer.
It is collaboration between Cone Health, UNC Greensboro, NC A&T State University and GTCC. The new facility will contain classrooms, labs, and offices for nursing education.
The project’s architect is Moser Mayer Phoenix Associates. The South Elm Development Group, which teamed up with Greensboro Redevelopment Commission and the city, is responsible for overseeing the development.
Construction is expected to complete in 2016.
