The City of Greensboro’s planning department has started the application process for a $1.75 million federal grant to improve housing affordability.

The Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing (PROHousing) grant is administered by the US Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Department. The goal is to broaden the range of housing types that hmunicipalities can build to remove barriers to affordable housing.

A draft of the application will be posted on the city’s website until Oct. 11 for public input.

Staff will present an outline of the application and solicit additional public input at the Oct. 2 Redevelopment Commission of Greensboro meeting at the Plaza Level Conference Room, Melvin Municipal Office Building, 300 W. Washington St., starting at 5 pm.
