Genetic Medicine to build plant in Durham County

Beam Therapeutics, a biotechnology company developing precision medicines through DNA base editing, plans to build a manufacturing facility in North Carolina’s Research Triangle Park.

Over a period of five years, the company expects to invest $83 million in the facility. The investment will create 201 jobs.

The company develops precision genetic medicines through base editing. No construction timeline was disclosed.
