The Fayetteville Economic and Community Development (ECD) Department is hosting two public meetings to gather suggestions for the 2024 Annual Action Plan, which covers July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025.

The first meeting is today, Feb. 28, at 6 p.m. at the Westover Recreation Center. There is also a meeting scheduled at the E.E. Miller Recreation Center on March 7 at 7 p.m.

Also, the Fayetteville Redevelopment Commission will hold a public meeting on March 20 at Festival Park Plaza at 225 Ray Avenue, Suite 122 from 2 to 3 p.m.

Comments can be submitted until March 15 by emailing  EconCommDev@FayettevilleNC.gov.

Each year, ECD invites  feedback to develop an annual action plan that supports the five-year strategic plan for implementation of federal programs for housing, community and economic development.

More than $1.5 million is available for affordable housing development through new construction or rehabilitation of affordable housing. Also, the HOME – Affordable Housing Development plan includes $3 million for development through new construction or rehabilitation of affordable housing.

CDBG funds are administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to support residents with low to moderate incomes.

The 2024 Annual Action Plan describes how the city intends to use the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership, and Housing for People with Aids (HOPWA) funds for the 2024 program year.
