Delta Children’s Products, a furniture manufacturer, has chosen Orangeburg County for its first South Carolina operations. The company says it will build a $33.1 million operations site and create 123 new jobs.
“We at Delta Children are excited about this new project in South Carolina,” company officials wrote in a statement. “This will help us bring manufacturing jobs back to the USA and allow our company to grow into new categories. We appreciate how the state and county have come together to make this possible.”
The company will construct a 400,000-square-foot manufacturing and distribution facility located on Millenium Drive in Orangeburg.
Founded in 1968, Delta designs, manufactures and sells innovative children’s furnishings along with infant, toddler, twin and full mattresses under the Delta, Serta and Simmons brand names, along with various products under the Disney and Jeep brands.
Construction will be completed in 2026.
The Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved job development credits related to the project. The council also awarded a $300,000 Rural Infrastructure Fund grant to Orangeburg County to assist with the costs of building improvements.
“Congratulations to Delta Children on this new manufacturing operation,” said Gov. Henry McMaster. “We are grateful for their investment in our state and the 123 jobs this project will create, which will provide more opportunities for our people.”
