The North Carolina Wildlife Commission is building a new boat ramp in Kinston, reports WITN-TV.
The commission started construction on the Woodrow Wetherington Landing along the Neuse River in January.
According to Bill Ellis, director of Parks and Recreation in Kinston, the taxes from saltwater fishing licenses are paying for the ramp.It will be a big upgrade from the city’s current boat ramp, which officials say is both unpaved and in a bad location.
Construction is expected to be completed by June.
