City of Raleigh to host affordable housing summit Aug. 17

This is the last week to register for Bringing It Home 2024, the state’s annual homelessness conference to be held June 4-5 in Raleigh. Click here to register by Friday, May 17 at 5 p.m.

The two-day conference will include more than a dozen presentations, panels, and workshops covering a broad range of topics related to homelessness. There will also be opportunities to network and share insights with fellow professionals and advocates.

Raleigh will also host an affordable housing summit on Aug. 17 at the Raleigh Convention Center.

Participants will learn more about proposed solutions and will be able to provide input on housing needs in the community and provide innovative ideas for the future.

While the agenda is not yet finalized, presentations and discussion around the following topics:

  • Homelessness is a housing problem
  • The state of affordable housing in Raleigh
  • Affordable rental development
  • Innovation in affordable housing

“We look forward to using the Summit as an opportunity to gain public input and mutual learning around the topic of affordable housing,” city officials said in a statement. “Ideas and feedback received at the Summit will help inform the work, including the new Comprehensive Land Use Plan. Please come out and share your thoughts.”
