Representatives of three trade associations have asked their members to communicate urgently with legislators to overcome a proposal in the North Carolina Senate to “eliminate the NC Apprenticeship Program entirely to balance the budget, the PHCC of North Carolina said in a notice. “The NC House is proposing to drastically cut the Apprenticeship Program budget from $1.1 million to $300,000.

The other associations involved in the lobbying initiative are the Carolinas Electrical Contractors Association (CECA) and the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of the Carolinas.
