The new owners of the now-demolished Brookview rental housing community at the edge of Raleigh’s downtown district have outlined their new plan to neighbors.

The project includes include construction of up to 58 new single-family homes between the historic Mordecai and Oakwood neighborhoods, with a pricetag from $500,000 each.

Community Properties paid $6.6 million in April for the 7.5-acre site where the 71-unit Brookview community of rental duplexes and homes had been operating since the 1940s. The rental units have since been torn down, Triangle Business Journal has reported.

Robuck Homes of Raleigh will design the homes, which will be marketed through Raleigh-based Fonville Morisey Barefoot New Home Sales and Marketing. The project is expected to be completed in early 2016.
