$130.2 million in building permits issued in Wake County/municipalities in August

Wake County municipal officials report 599 residential construction permits, valued at $130.2 million, were issued by the county and its municipalities in August.

Single family permits increased significantly in Cary, with 106 permits in August compared to 43 permits in Aug. 2014, according to Wake County Revenue Department data. Meanwhile, Raleigh, which accounts for about 20 per cent of the county’s new home construction, had 260 permits issued in August for single family homes, a 2.6 per cent increase.

In Wake County, most of the gain in new single-family home permits was in Cary where 106 more permits were issued in August compared to 43 permits issued in August 2014, according to data from Wake County Revenue Department. Raleigh, which accounts for about 20 percent of all new home construction permits in Wake County, had 120 permits issued in August for new single-family permits – a 2.6 percent increase.

New residential permits declined 27 per cent in Wake Forest (46 permits were issued) and 16 per cent in Apex (46 permits).
