Raleigh Transportation hosting field service job fair Sept. 16 – 17

The Raleigh Department of Transportation is hosting a job fair to recruit for various field service positions. The two-day event will be held Fri., Sept. 16 and Sat., Sept. 17 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.at the Raleigh Central Operations Facility, 2550 Operations Way.

The event is free and open to all candidates and backgrounds. Hiring managers will conduct on-site interviews and job seekers should bring a resume, ID and references.

“Raleigh continues to grow at an unprecedented pace, said Steve Halsey, transportation manager. “With over 1,100 miles of streets and sidewalks, and 2.5 million feet of drainage pipes to maintain, the Department of Transportation has an immediate need for new team members.”

The department currently employs about 200 experienced individuals that maintain Raleigh’s streets, sidewalks, and storm drainage systems.

The city is currently recruiting:

  • Maintenance workers
  • Equipment operators
  • Resurfacing inspectors
  • Seasonal leaf collection staff (no experience required)
  • Temporary staff

Positions available range from entry-level to experienced operators and supervisors. Equipment operator applicants must have a valid driver’s license and a commercial driver’s license or the ability to obtain a commercial driver’s license within 15 days of hire. Non-CDL positions are also available.
