Poettker Construction, an award-winning family-owned construction company, closed out the 2023 calendar year with tremendous employee, financial, industry, philanthropic, and market sector growth across the company.

“It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly five years since Poettker opened its Southeast office in Charlotte,” said Keith Poettker, chairman and CEO of Poettker Construction. “Heading into the new year, I could not be prouder of our industry-leading team and their dedication to building quality projects and developing long-lasting relationships with our clients, business partners, and local communities.”

Poettker continued its track record for outstanding safety performance with nearly 400,000 work hours performed without a lost time incident in 2023. National and local organizations recognized the company’s ongoing commitment to safety and quality throughout the year.

The Associated General Contractors awarded Poettker 1st place for the 2023 National Construction Safety Excellence Award and the Associated Builders and Contractors designated multiple honors, from PLATINUM level designation through its STEP Safety Management Program and accreditation as a Quality Contractor to rankings as an ABC Top Performers. Poettker also made strides in Engineering News-Record’s Top Contractors list, ranking within the top 100 contractors in the Southeast market.

Additionally, Poettker received industry recognition for projects throughout the year, including a Quality Concrete Award by the Concrete Council of St. Louis for work performed on the Camp Lejeune repair concrete MATS project, and in the federal market achieved 200,000+ work hours without a lost time incident on the Hunter Army Airfield Hangar project.

Poettker remains a Best Place to Work, a national best-in-class business, and a top-performing general contractor in the Southeast. This year, the company enhanced its preconstruction, estimating, and project management teams with the promotion of 17 integral team members across every level.

Since opening its Charlotte office in April 2019, Poettker has grown its client base and currently manages nearly $300 million in construction services throughout the Southeast region. Poettker excelled in the industrial market with over 2.7 million sq. ft. of distribution and warehouse space completed or under construction in 2023, including six Class A warehouses and logistics centers in Gaston and Rowan Counties.

Poettker supported over 50 non-profit organizations through philanthropic partnerships, advocacy, fundraising, and volunteering initiatives in 2023. This past year at its annual golf classic benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS), Poettker raised an astounding $57,000 in donations. Poettker also partnered with Teach For America, Junior Achievement, Boy Scouts of America, and area non-profits and colleges to expand educational opportunities in the local communities.
