The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) has awarded two contracts to out-of-state contractors for Interstate 40 construction projects, The Asheville Citizen-Times reports.

Tennessee firm Harrison Construction Co. won a $10.4 million contract to repave a seven-mile stretch of road in Buncombe County, starting at the Haywood County line. The project, expected to be completed by November, will also replace guardrails.

Miami firm GLF Construction Corp. received an $8.7 million project to rehabilitate decks on six sets of bridges —including three over Biltmore Estate roads. The work is expected to be completed in mid-October 2019.
