Sally Johns Design of Raleigh has been awarded the contract to conduct a North Carolina construction careers branding campaign, supported by a $200,000 state budget allocation.
The Carolinas Associated General Contractors Association (CAGC) reports in its eletter that the funds will support a collaboration between the NC Community College system and construction industry associations to “address workforce training needs in the construction industry.”
“Funds will be used for the development of a communications and outreach plan to increase interest in job opportunities in the industry,” CAGC reports.
Betsy Bailey, CAGC’s NC government relations building division director, and NC Community College System staff met with Sally Johns representatives on April 13 to outline steps for the outreach campaign.
“First steps will include identifying student focus groups, high school teachers, guidance counselors and others for input on messaging that will create an awareness and positive perception of construction industry careers,” CAGC reports. “Business and industry leaders as well as education and workforce development partners will also be included in the campaign.”
