McFarland Construction celebrates 10th anniversary

Charlotte-based McFarland Construction says it is is celebrating 10 years of business, providing commercial general contracting and construction management services.

“As a diverse small business, this achievement marks a significant milestone for the firm,” the company says in a statement.

President and CEO Tino McFarland started the business from a home office with two employees. It has grown to 40.

The company has operations in Fayetteville, as well as Virginia Beach, VA. McFarland’s footprint has expanded beyond North Carolina as a licensed contractor in Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and Washington, DC.

McFarland is working on projects including Duke Energy Metro Tower, Expansion of Concourse A at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, Marriott Hotel and Conference Center at UNC Charlotte, Mecklenburg County Community Resource Center in North Charlotte, Innovation Barn in Charlotte’s Belmont Neighborhood, and Virginia Tech’s new Corps Leadership and Military Science Building and Upper Quad Residence Hall.

“As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, we are truly grateful for the enduring relationships with our clients, trade and design partners, our dedicated employees, and business advocates who have played a big role in McFarland’s growth and success,” McFarland said in the statement. “We founded the company on the values of commitment, collaboration, and community.

“We have surrounded ourselves with clients, employees and partners who share those same attributes. Moving forward, our focus remains on building relationships on trust, staying true to our core values, and having a positive impact on our community. These principles have helped us achieve this milestone and will continue to drive our business for years to come.”

While any formal celebrations have been paused due to the COVID-19 crisis, McFarland says it intends to occupy its new offices in the Addison Building on East Morehead in May. where it has doubled the square footage of office operations.

“McFarland is grateful to maintain its workforce levels in the midst of this pandemic,” the statement says. “The company is on the forefront of implementing safety measures to protect its clients, trade partners, and employees while delivering on building commitments during these difficult times.”
