The Carolinas Associated General Contractors (CAGC) and the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of the Carolinas have taken initiatives in support of Hurricane Harvey relief victims.
The CAGC is providing support through the national AGC Charities organization, while ABC Carolinas has started a local campaign to collect hurricane relief supplies.
“As Carolinas AGC continues to learn more about the devastation throughout Texas and other states caused by Hurricane Harvey, AGC Charities is supporting members of the AGC family and their communities affected by this storm,” the CAGC says. “Carolinas AGC is proud to support this initiative and we invite you and your company to join the effort by donating to AGC Charities today.”
Meanwhile ABC Carolinas has set up relief supplies drop off boxes at the association’s Apex office at 1000 Investment Blvd.
The list of supplies is extensive, including:
- Cleaning supplies: Bleach, gloves, paper goods, paper towels, spray bottles, tissues, baby wipes, ziploc bags, hand sanitizer, trash bags
- Food: Canned food, meal bars, snack foods
- Personal hygiene supplies: Wash, shampoo, tooth brush, tooth paste, deodorant, wipes
- School supplies: Pencils, colored pencils, scissors, glue sticks, crayons, markers, paper, construction paper, pronged folders, composition books, three-ring binders, dry erase markers, notebooks, bags
“School/students/teachers stuff is ruined, they are busing students to other schools and they have nothing,” writes the association’s administrative director Brittany Hyder.
“If you would like to donate anything, please let ABC know,” she writes. Hyder’s email is hy***@ab**********.org.
