Marriott International Inc. and Charlotte-based Shreeji Hotel Group have partnered to break ground this week on a 126-room hotel near Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
“That permit is only for the physical structure and not everything that goes inside,” said partner Vivek Patel. “Development cost is about five times that.”
“The decision to partner with this brand felt natural, with the Marriott team working seamlessly alongside us to bring this project to life, Askhar Patel, CFO and partner at Shreeji Hotel Group, said in a statement. “SpringHill Suites by Marriott is a versatile brand that can simultaneously serve the high corporate demand and transient airport passengers, as the brand has perfected evolving to guest needs.
The hotel at 2223 Cascade Pointe Blvd. will also serve the 1.7 million sq. ft. office park across the street built by Childress Klein. The five-story hotel sits on a 5.7-acre site that will include a second soon-to-be announced luxury brand hotel.
Subtrades on the building permit include: Electrical – Bernard Irby Inc.; and mechanical and plumbing – Steeles Heating and A/C Inc.
