Greensboro’s planning department’s has released the fourth annual GSO2040 Comprehensive Plan implementation review, which looks at the city’s progress toward growth goals, is now available online.
The review highlights newly adopted and in-process plans, including Phase 2 of the Randleman Road Corridor Plan, the South Greensboro Plan, and others. Through public outreach, the city aims to improve the safety, mobility, and overall wellbeing of these areas through the plans.
The year-end review tracks GSO2040’s progress and evaluates broad land use trends, including:
- Greensboro is receiving a high number of annexation requests. These requests tend to be larger in size than rezonings inside City limits.
- There is a trend toward rezoning to single-family detached mixed with other housing types, rather than just single-family detached housing.
- Rezoning to industrial uses remains strong, with a higher number to light-industrial use.
