Flournoy Development Group (FDG) has broken ground on a 318-unit multifamily housing project in Huntersville, northern Mecklenburg County. CF Evans Construction is the general contractor and Dynamik Design is the architect.

The project, Declan Huntersville, is being built along Hambright Road on approximately 35.62 acres. It is part of FDG’s broader “Declan” residential branding in the Charlotte region. The development is being constructed by CF Evans Construction and will be managed upon completion by Flournoy Properties Group.

“Breaking ground on Declan Huntersville is an exciting milestone for our team as we continue to expand our footprint in the greater Charlotte market,” said Ryan Foster, senior vice president of development for Flournoy Development Group. He pointed to other recent projects in the region as part of the company’s ongoing pipeline.

The development will include eight residential buildings with a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom units. Planned amenities include a clubhouse, fitness centre, coworking areas, a resident lounge, and a small retail-style market. Outdoor features are expected to include a pool area, dog park, pet wash station, car wash facility and access to a nearby greenway network.

“Honored to be working with our friends at Flournoy Development Group to bring to life their latest community, Declan Huntersville,” CF Evans Construction said in a social media statement. “Our team is already hard at work on crafting Huntersville residents a community they can be proud to call home.

“Stay tuned for more updates as we work through early stages of construction.”

The site is also near a proposed stop on the planned Red Line commuter rail corridor, part of longer-term regional transit planning in the Charlotte area. The location is also close to major employers in the region, including corporate campuses in Huntersville and surrounding communities.

Construction timelines have not been publicly detailed.
