Centene held the company’s East Coast Headquarters Dedication Ceremony in Charlotte. The event marks one year since the announcement of the company’s plans to create a new Charlotte campus.

Centene says it will recruit talent for approximately 6,000 new jobs to be located at its million sq. ft. Charlotte campus. The first phase of the new East Coast Headquarters is scheduled to open in the second half of 2022.

The campus will include a number of employee amenities, including a childcare and early education center, auditorium, fitness center, healthcare clinic and pharmacy, and a corporate learning and development center.

“Our new state-of-the-art campus and growing Charlotte workforce will enable Centene to drive innovation through technology and continue advancing our mission of serving the most vulnerable populations in North Carolina and across the country,” stated Michael Neidorff, chairman, president, and CEO of Centene. “We are honored to contribute to the economic development of the region and are proud to announce that, over time, we will invest $1 billion in the Charlotte community.”

Charlotte becomes one of Centene’s three main campuses, including the Global headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri, and the company’s West Coast headquarters in Sacramento, California. Centene also operates local market healthcare offices in Charlotte and other parts of North Carolina, including Durham, Raleigh, and Wilmington.
