Duke Energy to build solar facilities in North Carolina, investing $500 million

Duke Energy is planning to invest $500 million into solar projects across the state, and three new solar farms are on tap in North Carolina, reports TWCNews.

Duke Energy will own and build facilities in Duplin, Wilson and Bladen Counties.

The Warsaw plant in Duplin will be the largest solar plant east of the Mississippi River.

It is expected that construction on the solar projects will start in the beginning of next year.
