Drew G. Burns has been appointed as the Slag Cement Association‘s (SCA) marketing coordinator. In this new position, Burns will work to expand the market for slag cement through positive, informative, and regular marketing communications.
“As designers, specifiers, and transportation officials recognize the durability and sustainability benefits of slag cement, our association is accelerating efforts to increase educational outreach and build awareness throughout the concrete industry,” said association president Ed Griffith. “We are excited to have Drew on board to champion these efforts, develop new strategies to build our brand awareness, and disseminate the many benefits of using slag cement.”
Burns has over seven years’ experience in both for-profit and non-profit organizations, focusing on development of strategic plans, marketing materials, content management, website development, social media, e-mail campaign management, and special event coordination. Burns obtained a Bachelor of Science: Parks, Recreation and Tourism Resources with an emphasis in Commercial Recreation and Business from Michigan State University.
The Slag Cement Association represents companies that produce and ship slag cement (ground granulated blast furnace slag) though the US.
