Daniels & Daniels Construction has started work on a new $7.4 million health sciences center at Lenoir Community College in Kinston. The architect is LS3P.

The Floyd Health Sciences Center is being built to accommodate growing enrolment within the college’s health department program,  American School & University has reported, citing the New Bern Sun Journal.

The new 30,000-sq. ft. center will be double the size of the existing building, with eight classrooms, two conference rooms and office suites and seven labs with simulators. Work is scheduled to be complete by October, 2022.

Most of the funding ($5.4 million) comes from the NC Connect Bond, with an additional $2 million through a grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration.
