CAGC Young Leaders are spreading joy this holiday season to two families within the industry affected by Hurricane Florence.

About the first family: Tyler, an employee of one of CAGC’s general contractor members in the Coastal area, and his five-year-old son, had their home completely flooded by Hurricane Florence. In addition to the water damage, mold has taken over the entire home. Anything with fabric has been destroyed, including beds, couches, blankets, etc. Luckily, they were able to remove their clothing from the home before the flood. At this time they are staying with friends until they figure out what to do.

About the second family: Mark is an employee of a CAGC partnered electric company. His family’s home was destroyed by Hurricane Florence. The storm completely ripped apart parts of the roof on the home, which caused flooding. The floors and walls are covered in black mold which is starting to cause health issues for the family. Mark’s 12-year-old son, who is  autistic, is home schooled. All furniture and belongings that were in the house have been destroyed. The family is waiting for help from FEMA.

GroundBreak said donations can be sent to the CAGC office at 4824 Parkway Plaza Blvd., Suite 115, Charlotte, NC 28217. The organization is also accepting major gift cards for these families.
