Burkert Fluid Control Systems has announced that it has broken ground on a new multi-million dollar campus  in Huntersville.

The new campus is located on a 98-acre parcel of wooded forest and farmland in Huntersville. It is a 124,000 sq. ft. facility, designed by WHN+ Architects.

Burkert plans to invest about $23 million and create 61 new local jobs over the next five years.

Edifice General Contractors was selected to manage the construction. The campus will have room for additional construction as the company continues to grow to meet the market demands, including walking trails, a fitness center and use natural lighting and solar power where possible.

Burkert is expected to occupy the facility in March 2016.
