Balfour Beatty Construction/Holt Brothers Construction, a joint venture partnership, was selected as the construction manager for new 288-bed, 75,000-square foot project at Winston-Salem State University.
The New Residence Hall – Freshmen Living/Learning project will cost $16.7 million.
The site for the project will be at the approximate location of the current Dillard Residence Hall, which will be scheduled for demolition prior to construction of the new facility.
Construction is scheduled to begin in February 2015.
“We are honored that Winston-Salem State has entrusted the Balfour Beatty/Holt Brothers team to build this important part of their future,” said Johnny Rankin, executive vice president for Balfour Beatty Construction in the Carolinas. “Together, we bring an unrivaled combination of student housing expertise, experience with State Construction Office projects, and a depth of local resources to deliver the best quality and value for the University.”
