Balfour Beatty announces Carolinas appointments

Balfour Beatty says it has promoted Greg Kendrick to be vice-president of operations in Charlotte and named David Simonton as vice-president of operations in Charleston, SC.

“We are very pleased to welcome back an industry veteran of David Simonton’s caliber to lead our team in Charleston and for the opportunity to promote a proven professional like Greg Kendrick to lead our Charlotte operations,” Jeff Sandeen, vice-president, business unit leader for Balfour Beatty’s buildings operations in the Carolinas, said in a statement.. “Our teams are excited for David and Greg to join the Carolinas leadership team and I am equally as excited about their commitment to positively impacting the value we deliver our clients for many years to come.”

Siminton’s previous projects include the $500 million Superblock project in Uptown Charlotte, which included construction of the 1 Bank of America Center, Ritz-Carlton, Founders Hall renovation, and Urban Garden. The company says he will lead its U.S. buildings construction operations in the greater Charleston area.

Meanwhile, Kendrick is responsible for overseeing Balfour Beatty’s buildings construction operations in the greater Charlotte area. He has worked with the company for 11 years.
