The Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America and Sage will release the national and state construction hiring and business forecasts for 2024 during a virtual media briefing at 12 p.m. on Jan. 4.

The outlook reflects contractors’ expectations for demand for different types of construction and for hiring, their biggest challenges and their plans to invest in artificial intelligence and other types of technology for the year. It is based on survey responses from nearly 1,300 contractors across the country.

During the briefing, AGC of America’s chief economist, Ken Simonson, will share details of the outlook. AGC of America chief executive officer Steve Sandherr will detail steps public officials should take to support the growth of the construction industry in 2024, and Sage’s vice president of construction and real estate, Dustin Anderson, will provide an analysis of the industry’s technology expectations for the year.

Construction contractors will be available to discuss their expectations for the year and local market conditions.
