Winston-Salem City Council approves security construction work for troubled housing complex

Winston-Salem City Council On Oct. 18 approved construction plans to add security features to a troubled Rolling Hills housing complex, one week before “a verbal argument turned violent, leaving one person dead and two bystanders killed, local broadcaster WGPH FOX-8 has reported.

The improvements include a security guard tower that will be staffed around the clock, a key fob, two security gates and a speed bump at the entrance.

There is no set date for when the construction projects will begin, the broadcaster reports.
