TNT 3D Construction, an advanced concrete printing and sustainable building solutions company, will receive a $300,000 state grant to support the reuse of a 105,800-sq.-ft. building in Zebulon.

The funding was approved by the Rural Infrastructure Authority as part of 15 grant requests awarded statewide under North Carolina’s Building Reuse Program, which supports infrastructure improvements aimed at job creation and economic development in rural communities.

“Every investment we make in rural North Carolina enhances our state’s economic competitiveness and people’s lives,” Stein said. “These local government grantees are receiving critical funding for infrastructure improvements that spur job creation and help their communities compete for future economic development wins.”

TNT 3D Construction is expected to create 36 jobs as part of the project, supported by a private investment of $720,588. The grant will help prepare the existing facility for the company’s expansion, which centers on advanced 3D concrete printing and sustainable construction technologies.

“We’re proud to see Zebulon chosen for this investment,” Mayor Jessica Harrison said. “With support from the state and Wake County, we’re welcoming an innovative company that sees the potential here and wants to grow alongside our community.”

The company has more than 20 years of experience in traditional housing and is now applying automation and a vertically integrated model to deliver housing more quickly and affordably, while reducing environmental impact, according to project details.

Wake County Board of Commissioners Chair Don Mial said the expansion will benefit both the company and the region. “We congratulate TNT Development on receiving this grant to expand its operations and workforce in Zebulon — a move that is good for the company and the local economy,” Mial said. “We’re excited that this facility will use innovative technology to build much-needed affordable housing for families in our fast-growing community.”

State officials said the grant will support the creation of 36 new full-time jobs over the next 18 months, with total employment projected to reach 60 full-time positions within 36 months. Jobs will span advanced manufacturing, construction technology, engineering support and workforce training.

“Zebulon offers a strong workforce foundation, a commitment to skills training and a community that understands the value of manufacturing and construction careers,” said Tone Terrell, president of TNT Development. “As the home of our growing TNT Companies ecosystem, this expansion allows multiple operating subsidiaries to grow together while creating long-term career opportunities for local residents.”
