Raleigh City Council added another piece of land to the affordable housing puzzle last week, approving the sale of two properties to Habitat for Humanity of Wake County.
Habitat Wake will purchase the two parcels at 24 and 428 S. Bloodworth St. for $200,000 and build four affordable homes on the site.
These homes will be sold to first-time homebuyers earning up to 60% and 80% of the area median income (AMI). The homes will remain affordable for at least 99 years.
In December 2023, Council approved the sale of city-owned land to Habitat Wake for one dollar.
The latest approval reflects its strong commitment to supporting affordable housing in Raleigh. This project will help more people achieve their dream of owning a home and building a better life for themselves and their families.
