Moffatt & Nichol has announced that project manager Julie Flesch-Pate has joined the firm’s Raleigh office. She will be part of the firm’s environmental services division within its coast, water and environment practice.

The company says in a news release that her skills include leading design teams in planning for and complying with the regulations set forth by the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), which require federal agencies to evaluate all infrastructure and similar projects based on their environmental impacts. Other capabilities include preparing Environmental Impact Statements, Environmental Assessments and other technical reports, as well as overseeing air quality and noise impact modeling studies.

She has experience in community impact assessment, Indirect and Cumulative Effects analyses, DOT Section 4(f), environmental justice assessment, sustainable transportation planning, and stakeholder involvement. She has developed and implemented public involvement plans that address project branding, media relations, and the utilization of citizen resource groups as well as technical working groups.

“Julie is a veteran planner, having worked successfully with a wide range of clients across the Southeast and a number of federal agencies including the Federal Highway Administration; the Army Corps of Engineering; and the Depart of Defense,” said Moffatt & Nichol environmental services lead Dr. Jerry McCrain. “With the addition of Julie, Moffatt & Nichol has enhanced our environmental review process on the front end of projects and has grown our capabilities of providing an advanced level of service to our clients.”

Flesch-Pate earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Oakland University and is currently an MBA candidate at Meredith College.
