The North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC) has announced the appointment of Sharon Pollard as business development specialist in Fayetteville, NC. Serving businesses statewide, Pollard will identify contract opportunities, source them to businesses across the state and provide one-on-one assistance to help businesses compete for, win and grow jobs through federal contracts.

“The business development teams are the heart of the NCMBC,” said executive director Scott Dorney. “Sharon’s experience as a procurement tech/contract specialist with the North Atlantic Regional Contracting Office located Womack Army Medical Center will provide invaluable assistance to North Carolina businesses in winning and successfully executing federal contracts.”

As a member of the NCMBC’s business development team, Pollard will identify future and current federal prime and subcontracting opportunities, identify and notify companies of these opportunities and provide one-on-one assistance to help companies bid on and win contracts, NCMBC says in a news release. “Specifically, Ms. Pollard will monitor all contract opportunities on Womack Army Medical Center – Fort Bragg; US Army Special Operations Command (USASOC); Department of Defense Education Activity Transportation at Fort Bragg; Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), and other defense agencies.”

Pollard is responsible for working with NC businesses in medical supplies, transportation, medical research and development. Additionally,  Pollard will provide assistance to businesses in Cumberland, Harnett, Hoke, Robeson, Scotland, Richmond, Moore, and Montgomery counties desiring to do business with the federal government. In this capacity, she will help existing businesses to identify, bid on and compete for federal contracts.

Before joining NCMBC, Pollard was a procurement tech/contract specialist with the North Atlantic Regional Contracting Office (NRCO) at Womack Army Medical Center. During her four years in the NRCO Contracting Cell, her primary focus was medical supplies and IT sales. Pollard has also served as a contracts administrator for the only government cloud service provider, Autonomic Resources, in Cary, NC.

Pollard’s office is at Fayetteville Technical Community College in Fayetteville, NC. For full contact, visit: http://www.ncmbc.us/contact-us/Pollard.php or email her at pollards@ncmbc.us.
