NCMBC announces federal agency web conferences

The North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC) says it is hosting a series of training webinars for federal contractors in the next month.

The NCMBC says it will host the training webinars on the NCMBC’s Zoom for Government platform. Zoom information will be provided an hour prior to the training. There is a fee of $15 per person for each of the three sessions.

Government Contract Opportunities and Contractor Responses
June 30 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Presenters: Joe Tew and Sue Kranes, NCMBC; Joe Angell, Wiley I. Wilson (A/E firm)
“This training provides information on the different types of federal opportunity notifications, from both the government and business perspectives,” NCMBC says. “Topics include: the key components of various opportunity notifications; what the government is stating or implying within the notifications; what actions a business should take upon receipt of notifications; and how businesses should respond to the government for various types of notifications.”
Bid Estimating
July 14 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Presenter: Laura Davis, Strategic Consulting Solutions (accounting firm)
This training provides information on bid estimating and will cover some basics related to pricing a government contract. Areas that will be covered include: key areas of the solicitation; estimating direct costs; estimating indirect costs; fee considerations; alignment with technical volume; and audit readiness
Teaming Arrangements that Work:Joint Ventures, Mentor-Protégé Programs and Limitations on Subcontracting
July 16 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Presenter: Jenna C. Borders and Dana M. Barry, Wyrick Robbins (law firm)

This session provides a review and comparison of the four major team building strategies and relationships; assessment of the pros and cons and differences of each; review of various federal agency mentor protégé programs; processes to develop strategies to team successfully with companies that can help you win work; understand the limitations on subcontracting and the requirements for performance by the prime contractor in various teaming relationships and for various types of small business acquisitions; avoiding legal issues and protecting the company’s rights as a government contractor.”
