Lincoln Harris is planning to add a new office tower to Charlotte’s skyline, The Charlotte Observer reports, citing the company’s plans filed with the city.

The new tower would be part of the Legacy Union project, a 33-story building being built at the former Charlotte Observer site on South Tryon St. The tower would offer about 389,000 sq. ft. of office space and about 23,000 sq. ft. of retail space, for a total of about 412,000 sq. ft., the newspaper reports.

Legacy Union is a 10-acre, mixed-use development between Tryon St. and Bank of America Stadium that will offer a mix of Class A office space, retail and other development. The 33-story office tower is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2019.

No more details regarding the new office tower were disclosed by the developer. Last year, Lincoln Harris noted in a statement that the “second phase of Legacy Union is still in the planning stages but will include retail and possibly additional office, residential and hospitality development.
