Carolinas HealthCare System has wrapped construction on a $57 million project to expand services for women and children at its Monroe hospital, reports Charlotte Business Journal.
CMC-Union recently opened its 87,000-sq. ft. women and children’s center. An additional 22,550 sq. ft.of space was renovated for a pediatrics unit with 13 pediatric rooms. The hospital also added 25 medical and surgical beds by renovating existing space.
Meanwhile, work continues on an expansion at CMC-Union in Monroe. The project, expected to be completed in 2015, includes:
The project also calls for major renovations to the hospital including:
- a new main entrance
- an expanded lobby
- 25 new medical/surgical beds
- additional parking
- relocation of the helipad
- new, modern glass facade that will become the new exterior face of the hospital
