Choate Construction will construct a 50,400 sq. ft. speculative Fort Mill Industrial building for Charlotte’s Beacon Partners, in cooperation with York County, The Charlotte Business Journal has reported.
An end-user for the Carolina Place project hasn’t been identified, but this may not be for long, Sean McDonald, Beacon Partner’s director of build-to-suit development, has been quoted as saying.
Merriman Schmitt Architects Inc. designed the building, which can be expanded by about 10,000 square feet.
The structure will be built on eight acres near the S.C. Highway 160 interchange at Interstate 77.
The Fort Mill facility will be the second spec building in York County for Beacon Partners within the last nine months. Beacon Partners recently developed a 277,300-sq. ft. building in Riverwalk Business Park in Rock Hill, Riverwalk Commerce Centre, now partially leased to Exel.
